Poetry prompt: Write about trees in 6 different ways
1.
The tree is bare and boney,
with branching arms
and drooping leaves,
and home to more than one.
2.
Each day, I park my car under
the shady branches of a large
peppermint tree which doubles
as the bathroom for pigeons.
4.
Someone stands in the street,
their beady eyes watching me.
I run to my car and lock it for safety.
Only the tree stares back.
5.
Heat radiates onto
the earth burning like fire but
under the shade of the
tree they are safe.
6.
It’s raining outside, raining
Hard. But I’m dry inside
and warmed by the burning
bones of my benefactor.
